Businesscard pocket- and table-holder

I made these out of recycled wood and as mark I versions they turned out ok. The table holder has my satisfaction and requires no further work in the near future, but the pocket model is not as good as it should be. The finishing texture is made in three parts,

Uno: first sanding and vegetable oil smeared on the clean surfice.

Two: With a butane torch a layer of top wood must be scorched, just a bit.

Three: More sanding and cleaning + a layer of acrylic black paint, let it sit for few seconds and with force wipe the surface with a piece of clean cloth.
